About Our Firm

Izumi & Company, Accountancy Corporation was formed in April, 2000 by Miwa Izumi as an accountancy corporation providing tax, accounting/attest and consulting services. With Miwa's 17 years of experiences with PWC, she understands how her clients can be better served by a smaller firm which provides personal attention and maintain high level of professional standards with much less overhead costs.

The Firm's objective is to provide quality professional services at reasonable costs to clients with ambitions of growing to become the leaders in their respective fields and industries. Our clients value our high level of professional servies at significantly reduced fees compared to those charged by Big Four accounting firms.

Our Team

Miwa Izumi - CPA/Principal

Ms. Izumi has 19 years of experience in public accounting. Prior to establishing Izumi & Co., she was a Director of International Taxes from 1995 to 2000 at Price Waterhouse later became PricewaterhouseCoopers (collectively PWC).

She has served large and complex corporations, partnerships, joint ventures and individuals on the international and domestic arenas at PWC. Her range of services includes tax consulting, preparations of tax returns and representation of her clients in audits by the IRS and state tax authorities. Her range of specialized expertise include transfer pricing, M&A, state and local taxes, cross-border transactions.

Ms. Izumi has received degrees from Mount St Mary's College summa cum laude, and Master of Business Taxation from the University of Southern California.

Richard Hiroshi Izumi - Consultant/Auditor

Mr. Izumi has 25 years of experience in public accounting including 11 years as a partner with Price Waterhouse and Ernst & Young. At Price Waterhouse, he was the West Region Managing Partner of Japan Business.

At Price Waterhouse and Ernst & Young, his career was devoted to coordinating the services provided to clients by those firms. Some of the services delivered under his direction include financial statement audits, tax consulting, transfer pricing studies, site selection studies, acquisition and divestitures negotiations, M&A and due diligence, valuations, lobbying, joint ventures, ABS, Eurobond and MTN comfort letter, retail industry consulting.

He graduated from the University of Southern California with a B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting.

Siang Liu - IT Manager/Accountant

Mr. Liu has had experience in computer science since 1998 and experience in accounting since 2005. Prior to joining Izumi & Co., Siang was a programmer and tutor doing various projects as a sole proprietor. He has extensive knowledge in computer hardware and software and programming languages such as C++, Java, and Html.

He first joined the Izumi & Co team as a programmer for various tax calculations but soon picked up accounting and took courses to further his education in the accounting field. With the knowledge gained, he has does complicated programs such as net compensation calculations and is able to handle many accounting and tax related services.

Hiroko Nozaki - CPA

Ms. Nozaki is a CPA with over eight years of experience in accounting as well as a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor (2011, 2012). Prior to joining Izumi & Co., she worked as an accountant for a US subsidiary of a publicly traded Japanese company in California.

With a combination of her work experience and educational background, Ms. Nozaki is familiar with American and Japanese business practices and customs.

Since 2005, Ms. Nozaki has also been providing free income tax preparation to low-income individuals, handicapped and the elderly in her local community through the IRS sponsored Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.

Ms. Nozaki has earned a MBA degree in finance from La Sierra University in Riverside, California and BS degree in Commerce from Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan.
